What’s New at Tempco
New Press Style Resistance Welders
Resistance spot welding is used to weld two or more sheets together by applying both pressure and electrical current to generate heat. As the copper alloy electrodes create heat, the metal workpieces fuse together in a controlled manner, delivering welds that are extremely clean and accurate.
Tempco’s new industrial spot welding equipment utilizes copper alloy electrodes that provide high thermal conductivity and low electrical resistance to create precision welds that will stand the test of time.

Tempco adds new OMAX Maxiem 1530 Water Jet
If you have ever been curious about what the water jet cutting process entails and what it can offer your company I am going to break it down for you. Awater jet cutting machine, also known as a “water jet cutter” or simply a “water jet”/”waterjet”, is a powerful and versatile cutting tool. Water jet cutting uses a constant, high pressure stream of water mixed with a granular abrasive substance to cut very narrow lines through metal or other materials, such as glass or rubber.
Waterjet cutting is not unlike other types of metal cutting processes, except that the cutting method that is used utilizes extremely high pressured water that is combined with an abrasive material so it can cut through harder denser materials. In its most basic terms water jet cutting uses high pressure water that is focused into a tight, narrow beam by a nozzle. Modern water jet cutters use a crankshaft driven pump to pressurize the water before sending it through the nozzle.
One of the main advantages ofwaterjet cuttingis that it does not create heat-affected zones or mechanical stresses within the material. It also produces a smooth edge on machined parts, reducing the need for secondary finishing operations. Additionally, water jet cutting is an environmentally-friendly process that uses only water and natural garnet abrasives as cutting media.
Water jet cutting is an ideal way to ensure superior precision and quality for your metal parts. Depending on your application and specific cutting needs it may be worth your while to further explore water jet cutting for your next project.
